2.17 - Passion

Angel puts a stop to what Miss Calendar has planned.

Joss Whedon, you son of a whore!

Why you gotta make me love your characters and then make me think they are going to be okay and then take them from me?

That being said, I love it. I love the narration, the shock of Jenny Calendar NOT making it out alive, and what Giles does to get even. Another reason why Rupert Giles is my favorite Buffy character. Is it a coincidence that Wesley Windham Price is my favorite Angel character? I must relate to Watchers.

Again, such a great episode with so many clever plot devices. Revoking Angel's access to Buffy's home was great. The drawings that Angel leaves, freaky. The fish! Oh, man. You a messed up dude, Angel. What he does to Giles with Jenny's body is the coldest thing I've seen in a while, but it was so effective. I won't be forgetting that for...well, ever.

I don't ever want this stuff to end.

Joss is a prick! He hates his characters. Not a one of them survives happily. Again,SMG is a badass actress, hitting Giles and the crying. I too loved the narration. I'm gonna have to watch this stuff again now.

I remember hearing or reading Joss say once that a happy character is a boring character. He wasn't opposed to them being happy or having relationships that worked out, but he said that as soon as you let that happen, the audience would quickly bore because they'd gotten what they wanted and were no longer on their toes.

And he's right. Happiness makes for some boring TV.
